PageThread Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
PageThread ("PageThread," "we," "us") is a Chrome extension that lets users save private notes and participate in public discussions associated with web page URLs.
Information we process
When you use PageThread, we may process:
- Account information provided by Google, such as your email address, display name, profile image, and account identifier.
- Notes, replies, votes, and profile information that you choose to create.
- The URL, title, and favicon of the active tab when the extension resolves the page currently being viewed.
- Technical information required to authenticate requests and operate the service.
PageThread does not read the body of the websites you visit, does not inject scripts into ordinary websites, and does not sell browsing history or note content.
How we use information
- Authenticate your account.
- Associate notes and discussions with the correct page URL.
- Display your private notes and public community content.
- Provide search, votes, replies, badge counts, and account features.
- Protect the service against unauthorized access and abuse.
Private and public content
Notes marked private are available only to the account that created them, subject to the operation of the service. When you mark a note public, its content and associated public profile information may be visible to other PageThread users on the same page. Replies and votes on public notes are also community content.
Service providers
PageThread uses Supabase for database, authentication, and API infrastructure. Google provides the sign-in identity flow. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Storage and security
Authentication data is stored using Chrome extension storage and protected by the extension's access controls. Server-side data is protected with account-level row security policies. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account and content data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting tanerozel47@gmail.com. Public copies, backups, or legally required records may take additional time to be removed.
Children's privacy
PageThread is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when we publish a revision.
